Behind The Scenes of Beauty-Blush.

Good day my loves! Today we’re gonna get behind the scenes. I’m gonna tell you all about what I do behind the scenes of my blog, and what I do to make my posts look like they do. Let’s take a look at a beauty blogger’s life! Ready for some secrets?

I’m a beauty blogger for a little over 6 months, YAY! I love reading other people’s “behind the scenes” posts and I really wanted to do one myself, because if you’re not a blogger I guess it would be very interesting to know what’s going on behind the scenes of a blog, and If you are a blogger yourself you can always learn from other people’s ways!

Everything starts with planning and getting ideas. I must admit I’m a bit of a chaotic blogger, but I do plan! I have a couple of notebooks lying around which I write my post ideas in, and all the products I want to review. I have a list of products, and a list of random things like, looks, diy’s, lifestyle things etc. So if I want to do a review, I pick something of the list and tick it off later. I always write down every idea, so I never go out on things to write about! I don’t really schedule my posts, I sometimes do but I like it way better to write and publish right away!

Making Pictures:

Next thing I do is making pictures. I have a white storage table that I use to make all my product photo’s on. It’s in front of a big widow, so I always have good lighting. I choose some props or textures for my pictures that I think looks nice and play a little with the angles. For makeup looks I use my tripod and sit in front of the window, for close-ups, and for a full face picture I sit in front of a white wall. The lighting in my house isn’t perfect, so I need to work with what I’ve got!

Editing Pictures:

When the photo session is done I put my SD Card in my laptop. I have everything very organized in folders for every categorie and post. I look through all the pictures and pick out the ones I want to use. Now it’s editing time! I open Photoshop and do some basic editing like cropping, brighten, shadows, sharpen and all that kinda stuff. When that’s done I pick my thumbnail and open it in PicMonkey, there I add some text, make a collage and do other fun stuff with it. Then I rename the pictures and they are ready to use!

Writing the post:

The most important step of them all, writing the post! I get cozy on my couch and go typing away. I mostly write my posts in the evening, because when I want to review something I need to know how good it lasts during the day. Sometimes I look up some important stuff about the products on the internet, add links and look for prices. When the post is done and all the pictures are in its place I add my thumbnail, tags and categorie. When my post is almost ready I read it over and look for any mistakes, then my boyfriend does a double-check and it’s all ready to be published.

Publishing & Sharing:

Now it’s time to publish my post. I go to my website and look at the post and see if it all looks okay. When I’m happy, I go share my post on Social Media, and yes I do everything by hand, no auto sharing for me, I need to do it myself! haha. I share it on the Beauty-Blush Facebook PagePinterest and Twitter. Then I go on my phone and share it on some Facebook Blog Groups and Pinterest Boards, and not to forget my Instagram page. If you don’t follow me on Social Media yet, or liked the Beauty-Blush Facebook page yet, don’t forget to do so, it would make me very happy 🙂

That were all the steps that I need to take to make a blogpost. Making a blogpost including taking pictures and editing can take up to 3 to 5 hours, being a blogger isn’t a joke :O ! I hope you’ve learned something, and found it fun and interesting to read!

Leuk om te lezen! Toevallig schreef ik een soortgelijke post vandaag alleen met een andere inval. Misschien dat ik ook nog wel eens zo’n soort artikel typ, want ik vind het super interessant om te lezen!

What a cool idea to share this sort of thing! Behind the scenes, I love it 🙂 Your posts are always so creative, and that’s why I nominated you for the Liebster award! The original post is here, but no pressure to do it if you don’t want to:
