City Color – Contour Palette Review.
Hi Blushies! Today I’m gonna review the City Color Contour palette. I’m also gonna swatch this little contour palette. Will it be a yay or a nay? Find out!
I have never really tried a cream contour, so this was very new for me. Now that I’ve tried the cream contour, I think I’m more of a powder girl, haha. But okay, let’s take a look at this contour palette!
When I looked this palette up on the internet I couldn’t find it anywhere, I guess they discontinued it for some reason. You now only have the contour effects palettes. This one is a cream contour, but the contour effects are powders.
It is a carton packaging, which is really light but it can also be destroyed easily which is not so nice. It closes magnetic.
This is what the inside looks like. On the top you have a little guide for where to put the colors, so that’s quite handy! On the downside, there is no mirror. The palette has 3 colors. A contour, bronze and highlight color. The contour color is a nice cool-tone brown color. The bronze is a warmer and lighter brown color, and the highlight is slight banana color with a little sheen.
Here is a close up of the colors. Like you can see, they are really creamy.
I swatched the 3 colors on my arm. The colors are really pretty and perfect for a lighter skin, like mine. They say that it is a cream to powder formula, but it’s not turning in a powder when I applied it, which is weird!
When I wanted to apply them on my face, the only way I could do it was with my fingers. I tried a stiffer brush, but it just does not want to pick up the product on the brush… Applying it with my finger went really well because it was really creamy. I was a bit of scared of this product because it felt like a formula that would give you impurities. It feels like butter (really oily), so the feeling of it I wasn’t so sure about.
When I blended it out with my Beauty Blender, I was just left with nothing!!! It disappeared completely! I just put a lot of afford in putting this on my face, I blend it and it’s gone? Huh? Even though I never tried cream contour before, I’m pretty sure it doesn’t suppose to disappear. I’m really disappointed in this product, maybe that’s why they discontinued this one and put a powder in the place.
This is a definite no go for me! I’ll stick to powders, haha.
