Hi guys! Sorry it has been such a long time I just didn’t have any inspiration but now I’m back with a lot of ideas again 🙂 Today I wanna talk about my workouts and how my running is going lately so if you wanna know then keep on reading!
Like you all may know I really want to lose weight, I already lost 15kg but it’s going really slow so let’s not talk about my weight loss failures haha. With this whole workout things it’s not only about losing weight it’s also about myself because I love the feeling after a workout and I just think it’s fun and a real outlet for my emotions, so it’s so much more than weight loss for me.
Let’s start with my running progress. I always hated running and that’s actually the reason why I wanted to do it because I was never good at it like I couldn’t even run 1 round around the track it was that bad, other sports? Fine, but running hell no. I never liked it and I just wanted to like it so bad. So now I’m making it happen and become a runner. In November last year I started with the couch to 5k app with walk and running intervals. That was 8 weeks long but on the 6th week I got pain in my left calve and it didn’t go away. I didn’t want to stop but the pain constantly returned. Every time when it was gone and I started doing more again it began to hurt again. It was really demotivating. After 3 weeks being in war with my own body with resting, trying again and resting again I decided to quit the app and do it my way. The app goes with time and minutes of running and walking but I signed myself up for a 5k in October so time wasn’t my goal it was distance that I wanted and with the app I only ran 3k because I don’t run that fast yet.
This week I decided to map out a 5k and see how fast I could finish it, with walking and running intervals how much I could take. Just keeping in mind to get there as fast as I was capable off. I made it the first time in 44 minutes which in my opinion isn’t that bad because just walking took me around 60. The second time I went I also made it to 44 minutes but with a slight twist because I did it with 60km winds which is a damn lot. There were places I couldn’t even run, it felt like 1 big hill! So that is my progress so far and I think this way is a lot better for me now, the app got me started in a good way though. I can’t wait to be able to run a complete 5k and if I do I will definitely tell!
On to the rest of my workouts. I play competitive badminton so I train for that and have competitions. Sometimes I go 2 times a week but most of the time once for 2,5 hours. Then the running thing I do 3 times a week. I also started doing yoga again and I’m doing that everyday as well. I also do strength training from time to time which I do want to do more because I really like it but I still have to figure out how I want to do it and what schedule and exercises work best for me.
I’m still started with this whole thing and I hate the beginning phase as nothing works but I need to get through that before it finally gets fun. But to be honest I definitely love running now though! What do you do for exercising? 🙂
