Hi guys! It’s time for another review today! Today I’m reviewing the NYX Vivid Brights Eyeliners, I have a red one and a blue one so let’s see how they perform.
Lately I see so many colorful looks and when I looked in my makeup stash I couldn’t find any colorful things so I decided to go a little bit out of the box so I can also create some different kind of looks. I went for a red one called Fire and a blue one called Sapphire.
This is what the back of the boxes look like and I already love what I see, it just looks so cool don’t you think? I think even with a boring nude look you can make it look so much more special and colorful!
They are just inky eyeliners but then in a really bold color, of course they have a lot more colors, even pastels! The applicator is a tiny little brush so I think it will be a nice brush to create a wing with.
They come in 9 shades in total, you can make a standard normal wing with them but you can also create a nice piece of art using different colors, multiple lines, dots or really creative drawings. I think it’s really nice that you can go all out but also can make it more wearable for a normal day. I know it’s not for everyone but I sure love it!
Here I swatched them on my hand you can see that they are really bright and colorful and super pigmented!
This is the blue one called Sapphire. I think I like this one the most it’s just such a pretty blue shade.
This one does have a little bit of a problem though. When I opened it for the first time I thought it was just a crusty bit but when I looked closer I saw it was the brush itself. If you look closely you can see that the tip of the brush looks a bit weird. It’s still really good but it makes making a precise line a bit more difficult.
Here I created a look with the blue liner, it’s such a nice colorful combination with the yellow! I think it looks really nice but you can see, that because of the brush error I couldn’t make my wing as pointy. It’s really nice and pigmented with just one swipe.
The second one is the red one called Fire. The packaging looks really nice and red but I do think the product itself looks a bit more pink. I don’t dislike it but I wanted red not pink, if it looked like the packaging I would be a lot more happy about the color. The brush on this one was normal so I think I just had a bad one with the blue.
Here I created a look with the red one, now you can really see what I mean with the pink issue. It’s not an ugly color but I can’t really call this red.
The eyeliners apply fairly easy just like any other eyeliner. They are nice and pigmented and stay on pretty well during the day. There is only one downside about these eyeliners, they are quite crusty on the eye so they’re not the most comfortable, you can see it a little bit on the eye look pictures. They dry up quite hard and when you apply a thick layer they want to break and crumble a bit when you move your eye. You can really feel that it’s there because it tucks a bit on the skin. If you apply a light layer the problem is a little less. Even though it has some errors I do really like them, now I can create some nice colorful things or jazz up my normal makeup looks!
