Since the original Tangle Teezer came out (which it is for a couple of years now). There are many dupes on the market right now that promises the same things as the original Tangle Teezer. Today we are gonna see if it’s true, or not! I’m gonna talk about the design, the quality, if they make the promises come true and the overall winner. They both promises to detangle fast and easy, less hairloss, pleasant for the scalp and that you can use it on dry and wet hair. Let’s start!

I’m gonna start with the Tangle teezer. I have this one for a while now and I am very pleased with it. I always get lots and lots of knots in my hair and I’m always in pain when brushing my hair. With this brush I have no problems with that! It magically removes my knots without any pain, it glides through my hair! It doesn’t have a handle and I don’t really know if I like it or not. In one way it is nice to brush your hair like this but on the other hand you do kinda miss the handle sometimes. It comes in a couple of color combinations, I have the pink and blue one but you also have all over pink, purple and yellow etc. With a normal hair brush I always lose a lot of hair and with this one it is almost half of the hairloss I think, so that’s a bonus! I did try it on wet hair before, but then I will get a lot of hairloss, I rather leave my hair alone when it’s wet.

The bristles are quite thin, so the are tend to bend because of my thick hair. I haven’t had a broken bristle yet so they are strong and won’t break that easy. It has two lengtes of bristles, longer and shorter ones so it brushes your hair evenly without pulling. The brush is also very nice to use on extensions and wigs. Overall a good brush for every hair type and easily knotted hair.

Now on to this one from Michel Mercier. This one I just purchased so I haven’t used it that much but I’ll try to still make a good review about it! I used it a couple of times but I must say I’m a little bit disappointed with this one. I had high hopes because the bristles looked thicker and stronger. I was wrong. It felt like I was just brushing my hair with a normal hairbrush. So sad… It was pulling my hair and brushing the knots out off my hair hurt a lot. Also it wasn’t very pleasant on my scalp the bristles are hard and stiff, so not a good feeling on my skin. It took a lot of hair with it, so less hairloss? I don’t think so! I haven’t tried it on wet hair yet and I think I’m not even going to. I guess I would be bald after that little joke 🙂 It comes with 3 editions. Thin hair, normal hair and thick hair. I have the one for normal hair because the one for thick hair was sold out.

The bristles are thicker and a lot stiffer than the bristles of the Tangle Teezer. These bristles have three different lengths; really short ones, middle length and longer bristles. They act a little like a normal hair brush.

I like the design of the Tangle Teezer the best. The variations of colors, and how it lays in your hand, it fits perfectly in the palm of your hand. It is also very small so you can easily take it with you. I also like the design of the Michel Mercier, but a little bit less. It doesn’t have a color range only colors for different hair types. I do like how the brush looks it looks very modern.

I also like the quality of the Tangle Teezer the best. It brushes easily and without any pain the knots out of your hair, unless the Michel Mercier. The bristles of the Tangle Teezer does bend really easy but they don’t break of. The quality stays the same so nothing wrong there. The Michel Mercier is still a little bit better than a normal hair brush I think, but I wouldn’t buy it because of that little difference.

The Tangle Teezer makes a lot of the promises come true. The only thing is that brushing on wet hair gives a lot of hairloss so I wouldn’t do that! The Michel Mercier for me is one big joke. None of the promises where there! It does brushes your hair but that’s all about it. Very disappointing.

So I think you all guessed it, the Tangle Teezer is the winner!!
