Tips On How To Combat Dry Lips!

Hi guys! Today I’m gonna share a few tips on how to combat dry lips! The worst thing to have is having dry lips, with these tips you’ll have silky smooth lips in no time and I also have some tips on how to prevent it!

I always have dry lips and I hate it! Especially in the winter time they are so dry and cracked that it hurts. I came up with some things that helped me to get my lips as smooth as possible and today I’ll share them with you guys! šŸ™‚

Tip 1:
My lips always crack the most in the corners, so when I need to go to the dentist or have a long talk my lips crack open. Make sure if you know you’re having a long talk or when you need to go to the dentist that you apply a lip balm, I recommend something oily so it stays supple. Apply it more on the areas that crack often, for me that would be my mouth corners.

Tip 2:
I know we all love matte and liquid lipsticks these days, but when you’re having a really bad lip day, stay away from it! Pick something moisturizing, like a colored lip balm, or a lip gloss.

Tip 3:
The first thing we do if we feel that our lips are dry is licking them to give them moisture. Don’t, just don’t! This actually only dries them out even more, so whatever you do don’t lick your lips. For emergencies put a lip balm in your bag and you’re always good to go.

Tip 4:

Stay hydrated! When your body is hydrated your lips will always be less dry, that’s the same with the rest of our skin, our nails and our hair, so keep that water flowing!

Tip 5:
When you cleanse your face or take a shower make sure to apply a good moisturizing lip balm after it because many cleansers dry out the skin, the same is with water.

Tip 6:
scrub, scrub, scrub! Don’t peel or bite the flakes off your lips, it’s really damaging to your lips and it doesn’t do them any good, instead use a gentle scrub and scrub them once a day!

Tip 7:
Don’t breathe through your mouth. Air can also dry out your lips so try to breathe through your nose instead. Also when you go outside on a bike or go for a walk on a cold day, cover your mouth with a scarf so they don’t dry out as much. The wind ain’t your lips best friend!

Tip 8:
Let your chapped lips heal. When you’re having severe dry lips just leave them alone. Keep them moisturized with a chemical free lip balm with no heavy scents or flavor, because some lip balms can irritate them even more. I love using Vaseline, it really saved my life and there is no weird stuff in it that can irritate them. Also try not to touch them too much with your fingers. Just keep them moisturized and let them heal!

These were all the tips I could think off, I hope they are helpful and that you enjoyed reading! I will see you all next time!
